This tall candle is hand dipped with pure beeswax and is of exceptional quality. This candle will burn for a long time to give that special warm glow and wonderful scent that only beeswax can deliver!  The candle packaging is made from environmentally friendly cellophane film made from wood sources or recycled cotton. Handcrafted in a community supporting adults with learning differences, providing them with a meaningful working and social life.

Burning time depends on the size of the candle, the environment, and age of the candle. An older candle burns longer than a younger one, as the cell structure of the wax solidifies over time.

To prolong burning time and prevent soot keep the wick short. A flame that is too high is caused by a wick that is too long. If candle causes soot, which can reduce the burning time, then there is a mismatch between the wax supply and the burn (e.g. due to drafts).  Burning for only a short time can have a negative effect on the burn, as the wick may not yet be completely saturated with wax. Wick care is therefore very important for perfect burn. Due to their higher density, beeswax candles burn a little longer than paraffin or stearin candles.

Sometimes a white layer can form on the surface of the candle. This ‘bloom’ is not a defect but a feature of high quality, pure beeswax. The candles oxidize over time, especially in cooler air, which leads to a white oxidation layer. The ‘bloom’  can be easily wiped off with a soft cloth. A brief "shower" under running water at around 45 degrees can also help. The surface of the candle is slightly melted and the oxidation layer is washed away.

Safety advice: Never leave them burning unattended: Always extinguish candles before leaving the room or going to sleep. Keep out of reach of children and pets: Place candles in a safe place. Place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Light in a safe environment: Keep flammable materials away. Do not place in a draft or near ventilation slots: Avoid irregular burning caused by drafts. Do not use near flammable liquids: Avoid dangerous situations. Use candle holders: Use suitable candle holders to prevent tipping over. Keep your distance: Ensure there is sufficient space between candles. Extinguish with a suitable instrument: Use a candle snuffer.
