Grimms Counting With Colours. A colourful arithmetic box for preschool, school and for arithmetic fun for the whole family: place funny coloured numbered snakes, add and subtract, form a multiplication chart, identify prime numbers and generate check sums. For young and old above 5 years. 200 small number plates in 15 different colours, 2 versions in a wooden frame, including detailed ideas for playing with many helpful suggestions and playing versions.

A unique characteristic of Grimms wooden toys is the velvety surface resulting from the use of colour glaze that penetrates into the wood, leaving a matte finish rather than a glossy one. The individual pieces are dipped by hand into the stain and Grimms intentionally do not put a final protective coating on it to preserve the positive characteristics of the wood. This method guarantees that toys stack more easily with greater play possibilities, and children feel and experience the wood fibres and structure while playing. From time to time colour transfer will result in new products that carry some excess colour pigments. Grimms recommend wiping the transferred surface with a wet, lint-free cloth to remove colour pigments. Grimms colours are non-toxic, water based stains that are absolutely harmless and tested in-depth for colour fastness in contact with saliva. This test uses a liquid comparable to standard human saliva. However, some people’s saliva do vary from the “standard”, so some colour may transfer under those conditions, but the stains are harmless.
