As a family we bought our very first Ostheimer figures in Germany from a small independent retailer in Schleswieg Holstein. The little girl figure and a little dog for our daughter, and a horse & rider for our son. We were delighted to find wooden play figures with such endearing qualities - minimal, yet so expressive. Beautiful wood with transparent colouring. Clearly so much thought and careful attention had gone into making these figures. Clearly, who ever made them was cared about children and their impressionability. And cared about play, and the environment.
Ostheimer are one of the cornerstones of the Myriad range and we have always held their genuinely handcrafted figures in the high regard. Our own children played with a small collection of carefully chosen figures. We still have all those figures in our home. They are well-loved and we look forward to future grandchildren playing imaginatively with them. A well-chosen single figure given as a special birthday present opens many avenues to a child’s imaginative play. We cannot recommend these figures enough.
